Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial attempt she made, she was ranked second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003 signed a sports contract with Adidas. After that, she went to the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set a Junior World Record by taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest winner of the 200 meter during the World Championships in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record once again in 2007, by beating the long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third of each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
