Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix demonstrated a talent in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her talent for sprinting while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks following the first time she tried out. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas a contract as professional athlete. In the following year, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. One year later Felix was awarded the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking the world junior record taking 200 metres at 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three in all her races.
