Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi, and was raised in Kentwood. Britney had dance lessons as a kid and was a great gymnast, winning many contests. Britney was a fantastic performer and dancer. Britney was only 8 years old when she tried to join The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) however her youth led to her being rejected. Britney was then referred to Broadway's off-Broadway show "Ruthless" where she performed the title role for 2 years. She attempted to reprise her role for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and which time, she played an actual mouseketeer. Her big break, however, was when she was signed an artist with Jive Records in the late 1990s. Britney was an enormous success after her first album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby another time" in 1999. She also sold 13 million copies (as as of July 2001), of her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears. She has a big brother Bryan Spears and a little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was destined to be a star from a young age. Britney loved singing and was influenced by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. After years of intensive vocal and dance classes, and performing in numerous talent shows and fairs, Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) television series [1989-1994] when she 8, however, she was too young to get the role. Britney moved to New York with her mother and baby sibling. She starred in numerous TV advertisements as well as being the understudy of Natalie Portman in "Ruthless" off-Broadway. The love for dance and music took over and, two years after that, she was auditioning for an appearance on "Mickey Mouse" again and, this time, she was awarded the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
